8/17/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hope you all had a great week! Its going to be a short one sorry but i don't have much time to write today!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week went alright for us.. It wasn't really anything special but there
were some high parts of the week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The best part of the week for me was on Thursday! Thursday we had a multi zone meeting with some of the other zones in the mission! It was cool to
see some of my other friends again and talk with some people i hadn't seen in a
while! President taught us some cool things and there were lots of things that i
liked that he said! I love the way he teaches! The way he applies it to all of
us and the way that the spirit testifies to us that what he is teaching is true!
President reminded us about something that i really liked! He said that we
always hear testimonies but are we truly prepared to hear them? Do we feel the
spirit testify that it is true when we hear a testimony? Anyways to top of the
day we ate pizza hut and after the multi zone meeting another elder and i stayed
for like an hour playing ping pong against President Williams! Lets just say
that i need to keep practicing a little bit more! President is actually pretty
good at ping pong and beat me like 6 out of the seven times that we played! It
was pretty fun though and all in all it ended up being a good day! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Other than that this week was rather normal! Teaching lessons, looking for
new people to teach, getting rejected, studying lots, eating lots of rice,
gaining the confidence of the members! Isn't missionary work the best! Yes it is!
I cant believe its coming to an end and that this is my last week in the mission!
I have learned so many things and will forever cherish this time that i have had
to serve God and His children here in Peru! I know for a fact that this is The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! We have been commissioned as members
of his church to preach the Gospel which will bring immense joy to us, our families, and the people to which we serve! I love all of you guys so very much!
Thanks for all the support and prayers and love! Have a great week! See you all
soon!</div>
<div>

Thanks for everything! I cant really describe over the computer or in words
really how grateful i am for you and for dad and for all of the things you have
done for me and all of the support you have shown for me and all of the prayers
for me! I think the best way to say thanks is by just saying I LOVE YOU! but
not as empty words just read on a computer screen but from my heart! Love you!
See you soon!</div>

<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everybody!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hope all of you had another great week! I hope all of you are happy and
healthy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We had a pretty good week! Were actually on a roll because we have had like
3 good weeks in a row! Lets hope they stay that way for the next two
weeks!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
A couple Mondays ago we went to this museum and sight called Huaca Rajada!
Its the sight where they dug up a very old man, sometimes though and claimed to
be King Mosiah by the members in Lambayeque, named Señor de Sipan who was a king
here in anancient civilization of Peru! It was pretty cool to see all the things
there! When i was in Lambayeque we went to the Museum Tumbas Reales and it was
almost the same thing as Huaca Rajada but it was still really cool to see all
that stuff and learn a little bit more about the culture of Lambayeque! This
past Monday we went and watched the movie Meet the Mormons with the Zone
leaders! ( we had permission) It was a cool movie!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week we have been working a lot again with all the less actives that
we have in our area and on Sunday we were able to rescue one of them named
Susana which was really cool! The work with the less actives is really coming
along whereas the work with the investigators has kind of slowed down lot! Despite
all the contacts and everything that we are doing we aren't really finding new
people to teach which is really kind of a bummer but we will keep on trying!
Another thing that was good this week is that everyday of the week besides
Sunday we had members come out with us and we had q good amount of success this
week which was cool!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Wednesday for war missionary night the ward watched a little video on the
family and explained a little bit about that and then everybody played some
games and it was fun! After the ward missionary night we were juggling the
soccer ball with the Bishop, his 1st counselor and his secretary and it was
really fun and pretty funny too! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Friday morning we had our monthly zone meeting ad sadly it was my last
one... It was good though and as always edifying! They bought a cake too for one
of the Elder´s birthdays and so that was pretty enjoyable too!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Saturday morning we ended up doing a service for a member of the ward and
it was pretty fun but pretty hard work too! We helped him put a roof on the back
part of his house weaving sugar cane sticks together and then putting a layer of
the mud they use to make the adobe bricks on top of the sugar cane! Its was hard
work but it was really cool to help and it felt good to look at the job finished!
We did finish with a couple blisters and sore muscles but it was a cool
experience!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thats about all that happened this week! Its was a good week and im happy
to be here in the service of other people learning many things! I know that
everything that we go through in life it to prepare us for the future and we
should take full advantage of all the opportunities that God has given us! Love
you all! Have a great week everybody!!</div>

8/3/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this week went really well after all!! We thought that since the 28th
and 29th are holidays, the 28th being Independence Day for Peru, this week was
going to be horrible but it went actually very well! I guess since it was
holidays that the people were in their houses and were actually quite receptive
for the most part! There was lots of drinking going on which was a bumer but we
were able to manage it all and escape from the drunks! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
These past couple of weeks we have been having a decent amount of lessons!
I dont exactly know why but the people have been letting us into their houses a
lot more recently! We have been having lots of lesson with less active members
of the church and we have seen quite a bit of progress in the past couple of
weeks! In general we are having about 5 and sometimes more less actives coming
to church which is really good! It always makes us feel good inside when we see
the fruits of our labors!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
This week i did a work visit with one of the Zone Leaders in my district
named Elder Allgaier and it went well and was pretty fun! I went to his area and
we had some pretty good lessons and it was fun to be with another gringo! It was
fun to talk in English haha! Im not really a fan of sleeping in other peoples
beds and im not really a fan of the garbage truck when it passes by your room at
4 in the morning and honks its train horn three times right in front of the
room!! Thats was not fun but not much we could do there! It was a successful visit
and i was able to learn some new things too!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Other than that there hasnt really been anything to extraordinary that has
been happpening recently.. just enjoying and working hard for the last couple of
weeks that i have left!! People have really started messing around with me
always reminding me how much time i have left and things like that... I guess
that happens to every missionary at some point in time!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I know that we have living apostles and prophets on the earth today and
what a special treat it is to hear their words! Love you guys all and hope you
all have a great week!</div>

7/27/15<br />
Hey Everyone!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this week was a pretty good week to be honest! We are happy and
working hard here in Las Delicias!</div>
<div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
This week on Monday we played some soccer for 2 hours in the burning hot
sun which was really fun but we were dead after playing soccer! I guess im going
to need to get back in shape soon here! Even though we were in the sun for a
long time we didn't really get burnt which was good! The rest of this week though
we were definitely feeling some pains in our legs though! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuesday we had some interviews with President and Sister Williams! I
always
like talking with them and leaning from them and their examples! Event
though we didn't talk for very much time i feel like i learned a lot of
things and was able
to feel their spirit which was awesome! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thursday we had our district meeting which was pretty normal as usual..
Before i was always nervous to give the district classes but i feel like this
has really helped me to get over most of the nerves! Im not saying im a perfect
teacher but i feel like being a District Leader has taught me a little bit more
how to teach.. haha! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week the members were doing good at coming with us until we got to
Thursday and then from Thursday to Saturday they all failed on us! Despite those
difficulties we were still able to have a great week in which we were able to
visit many people! We have had some pretty great lessons this week and recently
i have been noticing how much i love to teach the restored gospel with the
people! I think thats kind of why i get frustrated when the people dont open up
the doors because that means we dont get to teach them about happiness! I wish
all the people would just open up the doors but i have also learned that
Salvation isnt necessarily that easy!! Well were just going to keep on pushing
on!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We have kind of gone down hill on the contacts these past couple of weeks
because we had already knocked all the doors in the area but thats no excuse so
this week my companion and i are going to do a lot more contacts than in the past
weeks! We really need to find some more people to teach that are prepared to
hear! We are working with lots of good people but sometimes their progress is
slow! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All is going well here in Las Delicias which in English would be the
delicious! I don't know what they are referring to though.. If its the dust that's
always blowing around that's not very delicious.. The pension does make good food
though which is always nice!! The members are cool and we are getting to know
them better and gaining their confidence and all is going well! Really there is
nothing to complain about! All is well! I know that God lives and loves us too!
He wants us to be happy but he cant force us to be happy so we have to use our
agency to chose to be happy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Have a great week everyone! Love you all!</div>

7/20/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!
<br />
<div>
So this week has been rather normal with nothing too out of the blue!
</div>
<div>
Monday of last week we did a serious room makeover where we cleaned
everything really well and we even waxed the floor. It made the room smell
really good and it also made the floor really slippery and that was not good! I
ended up slipping and falling twice but it was still worth it to clean the
room!
</div>
<div>
This week was pretty decent i guess! The cool thing is that everyday this
week the member who was going to come visiting with us came! Some of them got
there a little bit later than planned but we were just grateful that they came
with us! We weren't able to have a ton of lessons but many of the lessons we had
were awesome lessons! We were able to find a couple new people this week which
was cool! So hopefully we'll see some progress here soon! One cool thing that
happened this week is that investigators and 6 less actives came to church!! We
were stoked! It was so cool to see all of them there! We felt blessed to have so
many people come to church! The only thing is that lots of them were women and
children.. Its always harder to get the men to come to church but were trying!
We are excited though because a less active we found somewhat recently named
Susana has been coming to church and we have been talking with her husband who
is not a member! We have had some really good lessons with them recently we just
need him(Karl) to come to church!
</div>
<div>
Another thing that had been happening this week is that the new water
heater that we put into our room has been pulling too much energy for the main
box to handle so we have been having lots of technical problems this week! The
first time it happened it shut the power off in the whole room and we couldn't
get it back on so we called the bishop who knows a little bit about that stuff
and he came and fixed it. Then like 2 days later something similar happened
and long story short we have been having problems with the water heater and the
light in our room and everything but the cool thing is that the bishop came over
again this morning and fixed everything up and was showing us how to do it so
next time it happens if it does i think i will be able to fix it! The kind of
things you learn in the mission! Not just spiritual things but other cool things
too!
</div>
<div>
Other than that this week has been rather normal! The ward is awesome and
the members are awesome and im enjoying being here in this area and in this
ward! I know that this is the most important work to do on the earth and that it
will bring tons of blessings to not only our family but other families looking
for the truth as well! Hope you all have a great week! Love you guys!!

7/13/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this past week has been somewhat difficult but we were able to have
some good lessons!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yesterday they told us who has changes in the zone and it turns out that
i dont have changes and my companion either.. So unless there are some emergency
changes i will finish my mission here in this area. So yeah i will be here with elder coca in this area for the end of my mission..
or in mission terms i will die here in Las Delicias and Elder Coca will kill me!
Haha! Elder
Coca has finished his training yesterday so im not training anymore but im still
the District Leader! In the district two of the missionaries finished their
missions and two others had changes.. So for now we think that there will be two
new missionaries that will come to our district and that temporarily they will
shut down one of the areas.. Its possible that another area will become part of
our district but im not really sure for now.. Anyways.. Today is the start of my
last transfer of my mission.. My last 6 weeks!? Wow that went by fast! A couple
days ago i completed 22 months in the mission and i have learned so many things
during this whole time!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This week was somewhat difficult because there were members bailing on us
left and right but after all said and done we had a decent week! We didn't have
too many lessons but we had some cool lessons! Especially one we had yesterday
with someone named Rosa! She and her husband John are really cool! We are having
trouble getting them to come to church but we had an awesome lesson yesterday
in which she committed to get married and baptized and to come to church and
start on the straight and narrow path! Hopefully they will be able to keep their
commitments! Another family we are teaching is the family of Karl and Susana!
Susana is a less active who is coming back to church and we had our first lesson
with her husband Karl yesterday and all went well! Yesterday was his birthday
too and so we were surprised that he wanted us to come over on his bday! They
seem really cool so were going to work a lot with them in the next coming
weeks!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well theres nothing much else that happened this week! Things are all
normal! Theres always dust flying in the air and since its hot and were sweaty
by the end of the day we are covered in dirt but its all part of the fun! My
companion is deathly afraid of dogs and there are quite a bit of dogs here in
Pomalca so its always kind of funny to watch him run away from the dogs! There
are some men ones here that are actually somewhat aggressive to so we usually
try to avoid those ones! In this area the dog dazer thing comes in handy lots of
times! Its pretty funny to mess with the dogs too! The pension here is great!
She lives with her husband, daughter and son in law and they are all awesome!
She cooks good food and were always joking around and its pretty fun! They have
become like a second family for us! Long story short.. all is going well!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I know that God has restored his Priesthood power here to the earth and
through the Priesthood today we can receive all the ordinances and blessing to
be happy! Have a great week!<br />
<div>
Love,</div>

7/6/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week has been somewhat difficult for us but it was awesome at the
same time!!<br /></div>
<div>
During the first part of the week we were not having much success at all!
The cool thing is that on Tuesday was Hermana Nancy´s interview with our mission
president in Chiclayo so after lunch we went to Santa Victoria and waited there
for a couple minutes for Hermana Nancy to come to the interview! While we were
waiting a group of Elders walked up the the office who had emergency changes and
one of them was Elder Kasteler!? It was cool to see him and to talk to him but
it was kind of sad because they shut down Morrope and there arent missionaries
there anymore! Tuesday there were emergency changes because that the day when
the mission split. Part of our mission is now part of the Trujillo Norte mission
and so there were some last little emergency changes! So anyways i got to see
Elder Kasteler and some other Elders too! The interview with President only took
like 15ish minutes. He came out and signed the paper and said goodbye! Quick and
easy! So we walked out of the office that day stoked that Hermana Nancy was
going to be baptized! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The whole rest of the week when we went out with members to visit the
people didnt want to open up the doors for us and when we werent with the
members the people opened up their doors but since we werent with members we
werent able to enter a lot of the houses.. We were kind of ummed but we were
able to have some good lessons this week! Not quantity but quality!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Saturday we had the baptism of Hermana Nancy at 4PM! She got there at
like 3:45ish and then we ended up having to wait until like 4:20ish when the
baptism started! There were quite a bit of people there for her bapism which was
awesome! The service went well and we sung a special number just us 4
missionaries from the ward and all in all it was awesome! My companion was able
to baptize her and it was his first baptism so he was pretty happy and all in
all it was a very cool and spiritual experience! The only bummer is that her
family didnt come to the baptism.. :( Were going to have to work lots with her
family now! Anyways it was a great way to end a somewhat difficult week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Were still happy and keeping up the hopes even though sometimes things are
difficult! I now that everything we pass through and endure in the end will be
for our benefit! God loves us so very much! Love you guys too! Have a great
week!</div>

6/29/15<br />
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
<div>
Hey Everyone! <br /></div>
This week was quite a bit better than last
week! So were pretty happy and chugging along in the work!<br /></div>
This
week we have been focusing a lot on Hermana Nancy and preparing her for baptism!
This week w have visited with her a couple of times and everytime she just seems
so willing and ready! She is awesome! Things are on track for her to be baptized
on Saturday she just needs to have her baptismal interview first! We have been
trying hard this week to have her read the Book of Mormon and she is doing well
so far! One cool thing is that we got to church yesterday and when we walked in
the door she was already there sitting down with some ofher kids! She got there
beforeus and forgoed her breakfast to come to church! We can really tell that
she wants to do this! Its always so cool to see how the Lord prepares people for
us to teach and when we find those people and bring them the message of the
gospel the change that comes upon them and their family and the happiness that
they recieve! So we are hoping and praying that all goes well this week and that
on Saturday she will be able to have this very special
experience!<br /></div>
Other than that this we on Wednesday we had a ward
mission night activity that was planned by the the full-time and ward
missionaries and it was very stressful! Im not going to lie it was hard work! We
eneded up going all out on the activity and spending a lot of time in
preparation for the activity! The activity was like a mini Plan of Salvation
representation! There was an iron rod the people had to follow to get to the
tree of life but they had to pass by all these rooms that had movies and karaoke
and other fun games that were acting as distractions! Its kind of hard to
explain it over the computer but after all said and done it went pretty well and
we were abe to learn more about Jesus Christ and his wonderful Atonement that he
gives to us! Im not going to lie im glad that its over though! The other cool
thing is that some investigators and less actives came to the
activity!<br /><br />Other than that this week was rather normal! We weren't
able to go out visiting with too many members but we were able to take
advantage of the few times this week when we were able too! This week should be
a lot better too because we have people signed up to go out with us this
week!!<br /><br />I know that Jesus Christ lives and like the hymn says
"Oh it is wonderful that he should care for me enough to die for me" I'm so
grateful for his sacrifice and for being our great mediator!! Love you
all!!<br /><br />Love,<br />Elder Jarman<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
Hola Everyone!!<br /></div>
Well this week had been tough not going to
lie! The whole week we haven't really had any success but Sunday made up for all
of it!<br /></div>
Tuesday was a pretty cool day and about the only good day we
had the whole week! I did a work visit with Elder Epperson from my group! After
the District meeting we went with each other and i went to his area and my
companion and his companion went to our area! It was pretty cool! We had a good
day and i was able to learn a lot from Elder Epperson! It was kind of strange
being with someone from my own group but fun at the same
time!!<br /></div>
Wednesday through Saturday were hard days for us! All the
members who told us they were going to come out with all failed on us!! That
didnt allow us to visit any of the women we had appointements with and we almost
werent able to visit Hermana Nancy.. On Friday we had an appointment with her
and the member was there in his house but just didnt come out and kind of like
disappeared.. So we went to our ward mission leaders house whos having a little
bit of back problems right now and he was willing to sacrifice for us and
miraculously we were able to visit Hermana Nancy and we had a good lesson with
her and shes doing awesome!! Thats another thing that keeps us going during the
difficult week! The joy that we see when the people make those changes in their
lives and are so willing to accept the gospel!!<br /></div>
The other really
awesome thing was what happened on Sunday! On Sunday was the dedication of the
Trujillo Peru Temple and it was aweomse!! There were 3 sessions and we were able
to attend all three of them and the spirirt was very strong! Presidente Dieter
F. Uchtdorf and Elder David A. Bednar came to do the Temple Dedication and we
heard awesome talk and messages and it was all really cool! Also the night
before we watched the cultural event for the Temple where they did all these
native dances and it was a really fun experience! It was a good way to end a
rather tough week that we had! The good news is that theres a new Temple in the
world and that Nancy Penas is progressing very well! Were still keeping up the
hard work!<br /></div>
I know that Families can be together forever through the
sacred Priesthood power that God has restored to the Earth through the prophet
Joseph Smith! I love you all! God love you
too!<br /></div>
Love,</div>

6/15/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week went a whole lot better!! I am finally getting to know the
area a little bit better and we were able to have some success this week which
felt good!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I guess ill start with the coolest thing that happened this week! On
Saturday we had a great lesson with Nancy P. in which we explained to her
about baptism! We talked for a while and it ended up being a long but awesome
lesson! She explained to us how she has felt the "Spirit"! I put it in
parenthesis because she didnt use those words but she literally explained almost
all of the fruits of the spirit which lets us know that she really has felt the
spirit! We invited her to be baptized on the 4th of July and she accepted!!!! So
if all goes well while you are all partying for the 4th of July I will be in a
baptism!! :) She came to church on Sunday too which was awesome!! She is
progressing very well and we are very happy right now!!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So other than that this week we were able to do divisions on Thursday with
some of the members which was cool! I was kind of nervous that i wouldnt know
the area but it ended up being fine! We had a lot of success that day too which
was awesome!! Everyday this week besides one we were able to have a member come
with us which was super cool! Thats one of the perks of being in a big ward!!
Saturday was a day of a lot of walking and a lot of contacts!! Pomalca is a very
dusty place.. after walking around for so long contacting the people you can
wipe youre face off and you can feel all the dirt thats on your face.. you can
also feel it in your hair and its all rather nasty.. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Tuesday we were able to do a service for our pension which was really
cool! They serve us so much and we cant really pay them back for their service so
it was cool to be able to do a service for her and her family! We helped knock
down two walls in her house and take all the debris out! It was actually kind of
fun but we finished pretty tired and sore but it felt good to do service!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday we had stake conference with lot of the other members in the stake!
It was really good and the talks were good! It was really hot in there but what
made it so awesome was that Nancy came with her daughter and her niece and it
was so cool! She is so awesome!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My companion and i are getting to know each other better and hes teaching
me some of the slang they use in Bolivia and everything going great!! The
pension son-in-law is going to bring us Pizza Hut tonight for dinner too which
im excited for! First time in like a year and a couple months!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well i hope you all have a great week! Love you guys! I know that God lives
and LOVES us! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love,</div>

6/8/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this week has been good and long and hard and cool all at the same
time!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So my new companion is Elder Isai Coca! Hes from Oruru Bolivia and hes got
about 2 months in the mission! I will be finishing his training! Oh and i got
called to the area Las Delicias in the zone Pomalca.. Its quite different than
Morrope! I miss Morrope but im getting used to my new area too!! My new area is
pure dirt roads and there is quite a bit of dust!! The nastiest thing though is
that there is a river of sewer water that divides our area in half and everyday
we have to go across it to visit some investigators! They have these little
bridges made of sticks that they have tied together and strung across the river thing
and it smells absoultely HORRIBLE!! I cant really describe the smell over the
keyboard but it smells horrible!! Ill take a picture of it and send it next
week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So far the area seems pretty big and it will probably take me a little bit
to get to know the area more but its all part of the procces! Funny thing is
when i was companions with Elder Quilpatay we came to Las Delicias to say
goodbye and one of the families took us out to lunch and the sister in the
family told me that one day i would be in this area and well she was right..
Anyways so i knew some of the people here since before getting assigned to this
area! Its really wierd going from tiny branch to a huge ward where there are
like 150ish that attend church normally! On wednesday we had Ward Mission Night
and there were like 50 people that came!? Thats a little more than the whole
number of ward members in Morrope!? It will be nice to have the support of a
whole lot of members and be able to go out with the members! Its looking good
from what i have seen so far!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We dont have a whole ton of investigators who are really progressing very
well but we do have one that we recenlty started teaching this week and she came
to church on Sunday with one of her kids and her niece and she came all by
herself! Her name is Nancy and she is awesome!! We are really excited about her
and we really think she will progress well! The other good news is that she is
married!!!!! Haha thats cool!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well other than that there isnt much to do here in Pomalca.. We had our
P-day today and we basically just went out front of our room where there is a
small dirt soccer field and messed around with the ball for a while and i went
and got my hair cut which only costed a little over 2 dollars!? I will miss the
cheap haricuts!! The thing is.. I needed to buy deoderant today and we had to
walk around for like 30 mintues asking a bunch of little stores if they sold
deoderant sticks and the majority of them didnt but after lots of searching i
finally found some.. I will be glad to be able to go to the store and have
everything there that you need!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well thats about it for now.. More to come next week! Love you all and hope
you all have a great week! I know that Joseph Smith restored this church and the
Book of Mormon is true!!</div>
<div>
Love,<br />Elder Jarman</div>

6/1/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this week was alright i guess.. We were both pretty nervous coming
into the changes because we didnt really want changes... On Sunday night the
zone leaders called us somewhat late at night to tell us who in the zone had
changes and it turns out that i do have changes... :´( We were so bummed! Elder
Bowyer finished his mission today and goes home and Sister Wood, another member
of the district had changes too. So almost half of the district will have
changes.. I still dont know where i will be going until tomorrow at the
transfres meeting at 11AM! So next week ill have more info about where i am and
who my companion is and things like that!It has been great working with you
Elder Kasteler!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well this week was rather normal! One thing that was interesting is that on
Tuesday we had our district meeting but this one had a twist on it! Everyone
opted to do this district meeting in English!? There was only one latino in our
district but he understands a lot of English and even he was down to do it in
English! So we went down a little bit early and decorated the room a little bit
with the left over decorations of Elder Kastelers b-day since it was Sister
Rasmussens b-day and we surprised her when she walked into the meeting and it
was pretty cool! Having the meeting in English was very strange!? I kept having
to pause and really think about what i was going to say and how to say it in
English since we never really talk about the Gospel in English!? Well that was
the first and probably the only time that we will have an meeting in English
like that but it was cool! We all took a couple pictures too because it was our
last district meeting together before the changes.. It has been a great District
and I will miss all of them!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Other than that this week has been pretty hard to contact since we've
basically contacted all of Morrope twice!? Now its kind of just like walking
around and trying to visit people we've talked to before.. This week wasn't too bad
though! We went out with our branch president twice this week to visit and it
was pretty cool! We are having trouble finding investigators who will progress
but we have been working alot witht he recent converts and less active members
of the church and we have had some success with them recenlty which is pretty
cool!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I have really enjoyed working here in Morrope!! It has had its difficulties
such as when there wasnt water for almost a month and the power shut off more
that it should normally but it was awesome! I have really come to have lots of
friends here and love the people! Since its such a small town and we know a
whole lot of people now from contacting so much it feels cool being in Morrope!
I really feel like the branch has become like my family and the members are
awesome and it will be pretty sad to leave them but i guess the Lord needs me
somewhere else right now! Bye Morrope! You will be loved!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thats really all for this week.. Nothing too interesting.. More to come
next week! I know that the example is a powerful teacher! Everyone is watching
us and learning from us and we have to be as light for the rest of the world to
see! Matt 5:14-16 and 1 Timothy 4:12! Love you all!</div>

5/25/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week went pretty well and there were some cool things that
happened!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So on Tuesday we went down to Lambayeque to have our district meeting as
usual and all went well but after the meeting we did an interchange for a day!
So i stayed in Lambayeque and went with an Elder named Elder Kenison! Hes from
Lehi Utah and hes got like 9 months in the mission and hes really cool! Tuesday
after noon we went out proselyting in his area and my companion went with Elder
Watkins to Morrope for a day. We had a pretty good day i guess! We went out with
a member named Junior and were able to have a couple of lessons! At night we
went to visit this one house and there were soooooo many mosquitos!!! Everytime
you swung your hand at them you could hit like two of them! If you stood still
for more than 2 second there would be like 4 of them that would bite you! It was
crazy!? So we kind of just left that area so as to not get eaten by mosquitos!
At night we ate Pollo a la Brasa too! Yummy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The next day our companions came down at like 8:30ish and we talked a
little bit about how it went and then Elder Kasteler and I headed back up to
Morrope! To be honest Wednesday and Thursday were super hard and long days!? We
hardly got into any houses and we werent able to do many contacts! It seemed
like nobody wanted to let us into their houses! Its getting extremely hard in
Morrope to do contacts now because we have literally almost knocked every single
door in Morrope twice! We have been able to find some cool new people but not
very many for how many contacts we have done and the people we have found arent
really progressing at all yet.. The cool thing about Wednesday and Thursday is
that even though we didnt have very many lessons we had quality lessons with
some new people! One new family we found who are really cool is Raquel and
Hernesto! They had some really good questions and were hoping that this week
they can come to church! Were still churggin along even though its getting
harder and harder every week to meet out goals!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Saturday was my companions birthday so as a birthday present we went out
contacting all morning!!;) Happy Birthday Elder Kasteler!! Haha! We dont really
get breaks as missionaries but its alright it feels goood to work hard! We ended
up having a decent day and some thing went our way! Normally the Churro cart
doesnt come out on Saturday but im sure that since it was Elder Kasteler
birthday the lady was inspired to come out and we got our Churros! When the day
came to an end we went and bought Pollo a la Brasa and had a mini little party
if you could even call it that in our room! It was a missionary birthday but hey
it ended up being a good day!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday was our district conference which is basically a stake conference
but since were not a stake its called a district conference.. Its was pretty goo
but it was way hot in the church builiding and wearing our suits didnt help
much.. President Williams was supposed to come to the conference but he had
something else he needed to do which was a bummer but its alright! Sunday
afternoon we were able to go out with some members which was cool! That was the
first time inthe whole week we went out with member and we were actually pretty
successful which was a nice end to the week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today we went down to Lambayeque and went to this super old house that you
can tour that was built in 1787!? We went down there with Elder Bowyer to hang
out with him since its his last P-Day before he goes home!? We ate lunch
afterward and all in all it was really pretty cool!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All in all it was a pretty good week! This week is the last week of the
change and so on Monday well know who has changes!? Thats all for now! I know
that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the perfect tool to overcome our challenges
and that you can find an answer to ANY question in the scriptures! Love you
all!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Love,</div>

5/18/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week went pretty well!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Monday we stayed here in Morrope and literally did about nothing because
there is nothing fun here to do on P.days!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuesday was a good day though! Tuesday we had our Multi-zone conference
where we went down to Chilclayo with 3 other zones and we had a big meeting with
President and Sister Williams! The whole meeting was awesome and i feel like i
learned a lot about the importance of a good scripture study and using the
scriptures more in our teachings and President talked about some other cool
things like working with members and also about Jacob 5 and how it applies to
missionary work!! Overall it was a really good conference and i learned a lot!
It lasted from 9AM to 6:45ish when we ended up getting back to Morrope! The other
cool thing is that we got to eat McDonald's for the Mulitzone! When we got back
to Morrope the power was out and it was super dark so we couldn't really do much!
This week on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday there was no power at night so we weren't able to really do much..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Thursday we had a long day but some members came out with us which was
really cool! Friday our Branch President came out visiting with us too and we
were able to have some good lessons with him! On Friday night we were in charge
of ward mission night so since it was the anniversary of the priesthood we
played Jeopardy with questions about the Priesthood and it went really well! The
only problem is that for our ward mission nights we are getting any
investigators that come or nobody id bringing their friends which is kind of a
bummer! Saturday was a pretty good day full or work!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday we had no investigators or less actives in church which was really a
bummer for us! Its hard to not see the fruits of your labor! Hopefully next week
well have some people come to church!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today was a super awesome day! So there is this museum called Tumbas Reales
de Sipan that is in Lambayeque but the thing is its only open Tuesday through
Saturday. We were trying to find a way to go but today just so happens to be
International Museum day so today the museum was open and it was free!! So we
went down to Lambayeque and as a district all went to the museum at 9AM! The
thing is since it was free all the schools were taking their kids there like as a
filed trip so it was packed with kids from all different ages and it was really
cool but it would have been better if there weren't so many kids running around
screaming and pushing and whatever else! I mean don't get me wrong it was still
awesome but i wish there wouldn't have been so many kids! We ha a couple members
of the church who work their give us a tour of the whole thing explaining
everything but it was hard to hear sometimes because of all the yelling! I'm
still really glad we got to go because that was like the one day we would have
been able to go and it just so happened to fall on a Monday so we were able to
go!! Anyways this week has been pretty awesome! Were hoping next week will be a
little better but were all good here in Morrope!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I know that God gives us challenges sometimes but he always gives us the
way to overcome them and to learn from them afterwards! I love the scripture
Ether 12:6! Have a great week everyone!!

5/11/15<br />
Hey Everyone!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week has been really awesome!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we have recently been working really hard to find some new people who
are really interested in progressing and we have been trying to get others to
progress for almost two months now without really much success but this week was
a week full of miracle for us!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So on Monday we went to this gift shop right next to one of the museums in
Lambayeque and we bought some cool souvenirs and it was pretty fun! We also ate
at a really nice restaurant called Mis Algarrobos and it was delicious! Well
have to go back there again some time! Then we came back and the rest of the
night we tried visiting people but we didn't have any luck! So it was kind of a
rough start for the week but we still felt pretty good about the new week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuesday ended up being an awesome day!! We went contacting all morning and
none of them were super cool besides one person! We contacted a lady named Maria
and she said we could come back another time and so we left to knock on the next
door and right when we started talking to the next person she came back out of
her house and called us over so my comp went over and talked to her while i
talked to the other person and it turns out that she and her husband wanted us
to come back at 6! So we came back at 6 and they let us in and we had a great
lesson with Maria and Flores! They showed a genuine interest in learning more
and they told us they wanted us to teach them about marriage and baptism! That
was like music to our ears! We scheduled and appointment to go back but
throughout the rest of this week we haven't been able to find them but were definitely going to try hard this week to find them! Tuesday we also had the
first lesson with an 18 year old kid we had contacted last week named Cristian!
He was really cool and he was really interested in what we had to say! He accepted the message really well and we also made appointment}s to go back but weren't able to find him so were going to try again this week!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So we have a slogo in the mission that is basically like "We study in the
morning, work in the afternoon, and see the miracles at night" and This week we
have really seen that come to pass! Almost every single day of this week when we
were going back to the room there would be people that would call us over and
ask us questions and want us to visit them and it didn't just happen one but a
few times this week! This week had definitely been a week of tender
mercies!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another tender mercy was that somehow we were able to talk with our
families! Our original plan was to go down to Lambayeque to an internet that
said they were going to be open and that had cameras but right before we went to
Lambayeque some of the Elders from down there called us and told us the internet
was closed so we started thinking about what we were going to do and so we went around looking for some investigator or whoever that would have a camera and
miraculously the first person we talked to had a camera and let us borrow it! So
that was the first problem solved but then we had to go find an internet that
would work with the camera and with the headphones and the microphone and we
ended up walking around for like 2 hours trying to get it all to work but in the
end it all turned out well and we got to talk with out families! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah this week was awesome!! Something that was really cool is that on
Friday w had our zone meeting and the subject of the meeting was Enduring to the
End! We have been doing that for a few weeks now trying to find new
investigators and finally this week we have started to see some of the fruits of
our endurance!! This week felt good! I know that enduring to the end is one of
the most important principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that enduring to
the end will bring many blessings! Some blessing will come immediately and some
a little bit later but some will not come until much later!! They will come
though!!!!! Love you all!! Have a great week!!

5/4/15<br />
Hey Everyone!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week was pretty good but overall it was a pretty uneventful week
again..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We are working hard with all of our investigators and we are meeting all of
our goals which is awesome but we are having lots of trouble getting the
investigators to keep their commitments! They always say that they are going to
read or going to come to church but they rarely come through with their
promises! Its kind of sad to see because were working so hard but we aren't
really seeing any of the fruits of our labors yet! At church this week we didn't
have any investigators come which was a bummer but hopefully next week will be
much better!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So Alex is still healing from his feet but hes doing a lot better now and
we think that soon he will be able to start coming out to visit with us which
will be awesome! This past week Olivos was away at work the whole week so we
were only able to have very few visits with members this week but were hoping
that this new week will be much better because Olivos will be here and who
knows.. maybe Alex will be able to come with us!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So something cool that happened this week is that we made a gigantograph of
the logo of the church to put up on the chapel house so that people can
recognize where the church was! It was pretty cool looking and we kind of wanted
to make the sign to hang it up on the church but the branch president gave it to
someone else to do and it didn't really turn out they way we wanted it to but i
guess the good thing is that we have a placard that people can see on the
church! Hopefully it will last a while!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Another cool thing is that we have a new pet dog that just follows us round
all over the place! His name is Toby and its really funny because when he sees
us ell come running over to us and then heel follow us around wherever we go! He
probably wants food more than anything but we don't really have anything to give
him! I don't even really like dogs that much but its kind of funny how he follows
us around!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Nothing much else happened this week! Sorry for the short letter! Anyways i
know that God has an infinite love for us and it is for that reason that he sent
his son to atone for us!</div>
<div>

4/27/15<br />
Hey Everyone!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week nothing much happened so sorry if this letter ends up being a
really short one..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The best thing that happened to us this week is that we got water
back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is hard to describe with words how happy we were!! It
came back on Friday morning which is our weekly planning day and so we took a
little bit of that time to take a real shower after 26 days of not taking a
shower!! We also ended up cleaning up the bathroom finally!! It is such a nice
feeling to take a real shower and to have a clean room and especially a clean
bathroom! I will now try not take water for granted ever again!! So during the
time when we didn't have water we were given basically two buckets every two days
for the whole almost 4 weeks. With that water we had to flush the toilet and
take showers and wash our hands and everything like that.. So to flush the
toilet we just poured the water in the toilet and with a little bottle washed
our hands.. To shower we put some water in a bucket and with a cut in half two
liter bottle just poured it on us.. It was not a very fun process and you never
felt truly clean after that.. So were super happy we have water back now!!!
Hopefully it doesn't go out again!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So anyways since nothing really happened that was too interesting this week
im just going to mention some weird things or funny things or just
whatever..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So right now my companion is Elder Kasteler! Hes from Bountiful Utah and
hes 18 years old.. He makes me feel kind of old.. haha! Anyways he a really cool
missionary and were working hard together but we also like to joke around and
have a fun so were never really stressed out which is cool! Our new district is
awesome too! Everybody is a really hard worker and the crazy thing is 7 of the 8
people are gringos.. What!? Thats kind of nuts!! Its really cool though! I'm
stoked for this next change because everyone's really cool and everyone's working
really hard!! One cool thing is that Sister Rasmussen is in my District now too!
Small world!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So anyways in Morrope we are really having a struggle getting people to
come to church and so therefore nobody is really progressing at all! We have
knocked basically every door in Morrope now and nothing has really come of it so
we are starting round two of knocking every single door and will keep doing that
until people get tired of shutting the door on us!! Hopefully within the next
weeks we can really find some people who are going to progress!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Some things we really like about Morrope are that, when there's water, its a
really small nice and clam town!! Almost everybody walk in the middle of the
streets including us and the cows and goats and everything and everybody
really!! Another thing that we really like is that there is a lady and her son
who walk around with a Churro cart! The churrosare these bread things fried in
oil with this type of caramel filling dipped in sugar !! They are super good and
we have been getting them lots recently! It really brightens up the day when
things aren't really going our way!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Not much else is really happening in Morrope besides the fact that i gave a
talk on Sunday and everything is generally a little harder with a small little
branch but its a fun experience and were thrusting our sickles in with our might
and doing our best!! Were two pretty happy missionaries right now in Morrope
just trying to work our hardest!! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thats all for now guys! I know that God will give revelation to those that
ask with a sincere heart and real intent! Love you all!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Love,</div>

<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The following is from Elder Jarman's mission president's wife's blog. The "two missionaries" were Damon and his comp elder Kastelar. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">"Yesterday we interviewed two missionaries who are serving in a very small town, of about 6,000 people and the whole town is without running water. The water main to the pueblito broke. A big truck with a tank comes with water about once a week and the water is rationed. The missionaries only get two buckets of water every two days in order to bathe and flush the toilet. And they say it looks and smells terrible! After their interview's, we brought them to our home to take a shower and have a bowl of fruit loops with cold milk. That is a real treat for our missionaries! I think they felt a little revived and rejuvenated. They were hoping the water would be fixed when they returned to their apartment. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed!"-Markndianna.blogspot.com</span><br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hey Everybody!! </div>
<div>
So this week was kind of weird but it went pretty well after all!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Last Monday we had a pretty good but crazy day! In the morning we took a
combi over to Lambayeque and we went to this one University called Pedro Ruiz
Gallo and looked at some of the animals they had outside the university..
Something like a tiny zoo but not really.. Anyways after that we walked to this
factory called San Roque and there they make things called King Kongs they are
like the sweet that Lambayeque is known for! To be honest they really arent that
good! You can look them up and see what they are and ill bring one home but they
taste kind of like cardboard and really arent that amazing.. Anyways we went to
the factory to take a tour but they said we couldnt until 4 so we didnt end up
getting to go on the tour.. After that we went out to lunch and then we went to
a museum called Bruning and it was really pretty cool! It was all about history
of the ancient civilizations of Peru! I have pictures that ill send next week!
So all in all Monday ended up being a great day!
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuesday we had our District meeting but we didn't manage to get the keys to
the chapel so we ended up having the meeting in the living room of the sister
pension but it was still pretty cool! After the meeting we stayed in Lambayeque
because i had to do a baptismal interview for the sisters investigator so while
we were waiting we went and just bought some little snacks in a little store
called Metro! Its the closest thing to a super market in Lambayeque but its
super small!? All went well with the baptismal interview and she ended up
getting baptized on Saturday!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Wednesday we had our interviews with President and his wife and that took
up the whole afternoon!? We left Morrope at 3:30ish and got to the office like an
hour later and then we talked to President but only got to talk to him for like
5 minutes but it was still a spiritual experience and at the end of our
interview he said he has a special assignment for me and my companion so we
barged in our my comps interview with Sister Williams and then President gave us
the key to him apartment and told us that he wanted us to go take showers in
his apartment and then eat some cereal at his house.. So we waited a little bit
and he and Sister Williams ended up taking us to their house and they let us
take showers and then they gave us some Fruit loops and some peanut butter and
Jelly toast and it was super good!! It was a strange experience but it was
awesome! It was super nice of President and Sister Williams for them to do that
for us! That's about all that happened on Wednesday!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thursday was a full day of work and in the morning we just did a whole
bunch of contacts and then went back to lunch and we had Arroz con Pollo! I used
to not like arroz con pollo that much but its one of my favorites now! I guess
we just started eating it so frequently that i like it now! The foods all pretty
monotonous.. Rice and Chicken but its not too bad now that i have gotten used to
it! Anyways by the end of the day we didn't have many lessons but we did have 40
contacts!? </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Friday we had weekly planning and we also had ward missionary night and
that just about took up the whole day!? For ward missionary night we watched the
movie about John Tanner and it was really good and then we played the game 20
questions with all the members and it was really cool! Everybody was getting way
into it and having tons of fun!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Saturday morning we had a ward activity but almost nobody came to played
soccer and frisbee which was a bummer! There were lots of people who said they
were coming but never ended up coming.. Saturday was a pretty long day but we
ended up having a decent day!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday was a cool day! Sunday morning we started church and there were only
7 of us there!? Small numbers,, So we got to bless the sacrament which was
cool! Little by little they all started coming in too until by the end of sacrament there were like 30 members! After church we had Branch council and it
went well and after that they had me come up to the front and one by one they
all came up and shook my hand saying congrats or happy birthday or whatever and
it was kind of awkward how they all did it but it was nice! Sunday afternoon was
hard because we weren't able to get almost anything done!? Sundays everybody is
usually busy or partying or drunk or whatever!! We were contacting on Sunday and
this really drunk guy came up to us waving his hand around muttering words and he
came up and started pushing us away from this house so we just left but it was
really strange! Sunday night we went to the pension and they had us wait outside
for a couple minutes and then my companion knocked on the door and told me to
come up but i waited a second longer and so they opened up the door thinking i
knocked and all said surprise but to my companion and not to me!? Haha oops! So
yeah they ended up throwing me a little party and buying some cake and things
like that and it was really cool and then we sat there for a while playing 20 question with everybody!! Over all it was a cool day and a cool birthday and thankfully they didn't smash eggs on my head!? I think they did it out or mercy
because the fact that the water STILL HASN'T COME BACK YET!! Oh well were trying
to be patient! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Soo yeah this week went really well and was cool! I'm so grateful to be
serving a mission and having the opportunity to have so many friends here! I
know that wherever we go we may find friends in the church! Love you all! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Love,</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">So this past week went a
lot better than the week before besides the fact that we are still without
water... Bummer! I guess it could be worse though so were just trying to look on
the bright side until the water comes back! They are saying that it should come
back on Wednesday or around there so well be hoping that they are
right!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Tuesday was a pretty g</span><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">ood
day i guess! What was pretty cool is that a member names Olivos came out
visiting with us the whole afternoon from 3 to 8:30ish so that was awesome! What isn't so awesome is that whenever the members come out with us everything that we
planned to do usually ends up falling through.. Its really a bummer when that
happens but after all we ended up being able to teach a couple of people and do
some contacts!</span><span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Wednesday was one of our
best days that we have had this week and this whole transfer! We didnt go out
with a member on Wednesday but it still ended up being a great day! We had 6
other lessons with some of our investigators and we were able to do a lot of
contacts and find a couple new people to teach which was pretty
cool! </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Thursday we were able to
go out visiting again the whole afternoon with Hermano Olivos which was awesome!
Olivos works one week the whole week and the next week only like two days so
when he doesnt work he comes out visiting with us a lot! Hes only got a year and
a half as a member of the church but hes awesome! Thursday was a pretty good day
and we were able to visit the majority of the people that we had planned to
visit!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Friday morning we had the
zone meeting with the whole zone and that was the first time that i had seen all
the missionaries in our zone in the whole transfer!? The training went well and
we were able to learn some cool things and another cool thing is that for my
B-day the zone leaders bought a cake to share and they sung me happy birthday
and everything and it was pretty fun! After the zone meeting i was going to do a
baptismal interview for the sister in the district but while we were waiting for
the investigator to show up the sister called her and she didnt end up being
able to come so we ended up just going back to Morrope but by that time we only
had like 3ish hours left to go proselyting so we were able to do a whole bunch
on Friday..</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Saturday we had another
awesome day! In the morning we went out and did a whole bunch of contacts!? We
ended up doing like 30 contacts in just the morning! When we got to lunch we
found out that a member of the ward named Alex had gotten hit by a moto taxi and
the moto taxi had cut open both of his heels really deep and they took him to
the hospital and sticthed him up and hell be in bed resting for a couple weeks
but we were able to give him a blessing which is always a spiritual experience!
In the afternoon we went and tried to visit some people and were able to visit a
couple more people and we ended off the day pretty well!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Sunday was alright i
guess! Its always a bummer when you go try to pick up the investigators and take
them to church and they dant go and you get to church and none of your
investigators is there.. Its really a bummer but all we can do is keep helping
them! So church went pretty well and the ward council afterwards was a lot
better this week which was cool! After church in the afternoon we went out
proselyting but without any luck at all! It was just not our day on Sunday! We
werent able to get bery much done but hopefully next Sunday will be
better!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">So right now were working
hard even though theres no water and were struggling helping our investigators
progress but we have faith that in the near future they will be able to
progress! I know that this is the greatest and most important work on this earth
and im greatful to be a part of it! Love you all!</span></div>

<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Well hope you all had a good week! Sorry if its kind of short but the internet is really slow here!!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Anyways so Monday was a good day as usual! We went to a members house and we made some hamburgers and they were pretty good! They weren't as good as In-N-Out but they werent too shabby! Then we came back to Morrope and wrote and went out visiting a couple people without too much luck.. This week we had some goals to do a lot more contacts which is just like knocking on doors or stopping people in the street to share a principle about the gospel and try to make an appointment so on Monday we started off by doing a couple of contacts that night!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Tuesday we had the district meetings in the morning and we analyzed our goals and i gave a lesson a little bit about faith and i feel like it went really well and i personally was able to learn a lot more about faith that what i had previously known! After the meetings we came back and had lunch which was just the usual rice and chicken but Ive kind of gotten used to it by know and its not that bad.. After lunch we went out proselyting and it was kind of a hard day because we literally got into nobody's house!?! We walked around doing contacts almost all day because all of our appointments fell through! Man did my feet hurt!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Wednesday morning we went out and visited a recent convert named Maria Bances and it was pretty cool! We talked a little bit about Jesus Christ and is Resurrection! This week that has been a big focus for us and it was really cool being able to focus on Jesus Christ even though we do it all the time! Then we did some more contacts and in the afternoon we went out with a member named Alex and it ended up being a really good day!! We were able to visit five different people or families with him! Some of them were new people too which was awesome!! Wednesday ended up being one of the best days of this week besides the fact that the water in all of Morrope went out on Wednesday! It had really gone out on Monday but since there was a tank on top of out house it lasted until Wednesday... but the pump that takes the water to the whole town broke down and so we have been without water for almost a week now and are having to take showers with buckets and use our water very sparingly... Its really a bummer and its very uncomfortable because we don't get very much water to use... Why cant the water just come back!!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Thursday was a sweet day too! We didn't go out with a member but we did do a lot of contacts and some other lessons with some new people too! We are really trying to find a lot more new people right now because we don't really have very many people to teach right now so it was cool to find a couple new people!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Friday morning we had weekly planning but during weekly planning i started to feel a little sick and after lunch i took my temperature and i ended up having a fever but we still went out proselyting because we needed to meet our goals and we also had an activity with the branch but when we got to the activity i started feeling worse so we went back to the room and i ended up throwing up and it went downhill from there.. All Friday night i felt horrible and Saturday morning too! Saturday afternoon i felt a tiny bit better so we went down to Lambayeque to watch conference and we got to watch it in English which was awesome but i didn't feel very good so i didn't get as much out of it as normal... Sunday i felt quite a bit better but my stomach didn't feel the best yet and i didn't feel like eating anything but a hamburger... So ya i didn't feel the greatest these past couple of days but i feel better now! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">So this week went more or less well with a couple of downs.. No water and being sick at the same time! Its a tricky thing being sick and not having water! Anyways im sure this week will be a lot better! I know the Apostles and Prophets are called by God and I'm so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ! Love you all!!</span><br />

3/30/15<br />
<div dir="ltr">
Hey Everyone!!
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So i guess this week went really well but it was a little strange!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Monday we didnt really do much after P-day because there wasnt any power
but we did go visit a recent convert named Hellen and her Mom and while we were
there in here house the power came back on but it was already too late to
write..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuseday we went to the district meetings in the morning and afterwards we
came back to Morrope and were able to write our families! After we wrote we
basically went out the rest of the day visiting people and Elder Segura was
saying goodbye to all of them and it went pretty well i guess! At night lots of
the members of the branch came to the pensions house and threw Elder Segura a
little goodbye party and had a little tesimony meeting afterwards! Goodbyes are
always sad...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
On Wednesday morning Elder Segura got all of his stuff all packed up and
ready to go and we went to say some last goodbyes to some people and then we ate
lunch and we were off to the office! When we got to the office the three Elders
that were going home got to go out to eat whatever they wanted and the Zone
leaders came to pick me up so i could stay with them until the next day for the
emergency changes! We had a decent day with the Zone leaders and we did
divisions and i went with a member and we went and taught a lesson to a new
investigator and then we met back up and all went together to teach another
lesson and all in all it was a good day! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thursday morning we studied and then the Zone leaders and then they
finished the work visit that they were doing and ate like 3:30ish we went to the
office and the Zone leaders dropped me off there until my new companion got
there.. They didnt tell me who my new companion was going to be until like 15
minutes before he got there... I ended up waiting in the office for a couple of
hours and my copmanion finally got there at like 5:50ish! My new companion is
Elder Kasteler! Hes from Bountiful Utah and hes got about 9 months in the
mission! Were excited to be working together and we are going to do work!! Its
going to be fun!! Anyways so we left Chiclayo at about 6:20ish and we got to
Morrope at 7ish and we went and set his stuff down and we went out to see if we
could visit some people but none of the people we visited were there..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Friday we had weekly planning and we made some new goals for the month of
April and were excited about the new goals we made! After lunch we went out
visiting and had a pretty good day i guess! We were able to visit a couple of
people and do some contacts!! This week wasn't super productive because there were
some minor setbacks and a couple of days when we werent in Morrope but after all
it turned out pretty well!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Saturday morning we went out and did some contacts in the morning and just
knocked some doors but really didnt have a whole bunch of luck with that!
Saturday we started our fast after lunch and it ended up being a really long day
because we were walking around all day with no water and no break which was
pretty tiring but we made it through Saturday and it went pretty well! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday went pretty well! In the morning we had fast and testimony meeting
and that was cool! We had an investigator come to church and we also had a less
active come to church which was sweet! We taught Gospel Principles in the second
hour with only two people in the class and in the third hour we had a class by
one of the counselors of the mission Peru Chiclayo and it was pretty good!!
Afterwards we had Branch Council and then we went and broke our fast!! This
Sunday went really well in the afternoon! Since we dont really have very many
inevstigators here we did some more contacts and about half of the people doors
who we knocked let us in their houses and it was super cool! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
All in all it ended up being a pretty good week but were excited about next
week and working hard and especially about General Conference and we are going
to get to watch it in English!!!! I know this church is guided by a true prophet today and this week we will have the opportunity to hear his words and have the
spirit testify to us that his words are true!! Love you all and hope you have a
great week!!

3/24/15<br />
<br />
<div dir="ltr">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Hey Everyone!!</span><div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">So yeah sorry for not writing yesterday there wasnt any power in the town so we couldnt write... <a href="x-apple-data-detectors://0" x-apple-data-detectors-result="0" x-apple-data-detectors-type="calendar-event" x-apple-data-detectors="true">On Sunday night</a> it rained somewhat hard and usually when it rains hard like that the power goes out for like a day or so.. So yeah thats why we werent able to write but President Williams said we could write today!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">So anyways this last week went pretty well! Its kind of weird being in a small town with a little branch of like 40ish people!? Its kind of a cool experience! Well this week i was just trying to get to know the area better because my companion Elder Segura goes home tomorrow!? So like i said before we still dont really know whats going to happen with me! I could get left here and stay with a mini missionary or they could shut don the area and i would get changed to somewhere else but i still dont know and its killing me because i really want to know what going to happen!! Im sure theyll tell us really soon!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">So on Tuesday it was pretty normal we studied in the morning and then we went out and visited a couple people and did some contacts and it actually ended up being a pretty productive morning! It is super hot here in Morrope and it doesnt help that its humid! Sometimes i would like to go swimming because its so hot!? Anyways after lunch we went out visiting and almost all of the appointments that we had scheduled failed on us.. Thats was a bummer because we had made some plans to teach some people and when we went to teach them they werent there.. Which is kind of weird because i feel like the people here in Morrope are a lot more receptive and they let us in more frequently which is pretty cool!! Tuesday we were able to go out visiting with a member named Alez which was pretty cool because we dont go out with members very much here.. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Wedensday morning after studying we traveled like 30ish minutes to Lambayeque and we had out district meetings and since im the district leader i have to give the 1 to 1 and a half class!? Its kind of nerve-racking sometimes because you have to stand up there and teach a group of missionaries that studies the scriptures a lot and are very intelligent people and they basically know everything they need to do... So yeah i basically just help them remember the things they need to do! In the district are Elder Azaña and Elder Watkins, Sister Corona and Sister Wood, and the Zone Leaders, Elder Bowyer and Elder Ricapa! Its pretty cool eing a district leader i guess.s Its kind of stressful sometimes too! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Thursday ended up being a pretty good day! In the morning we went and visited Emily and her cousin Carlos and we had a pretty good lesson with Carlos who attended the 7th day adventist church for a whole but hes inactive right now and we think he could progress! Then in the morning we did some more contacts! Its kind of hard doing contacts in a small town like this because all of the poeple here have been contacted before and some of them more than once.. So i guess well just have to contact everybody until they get tired of shutting the door on us! In the afternoon we were able to go out visiting with Alez again and it went pretty well! We were able to get a couple visits in but not as many as we had planned.. I guess not everything always goes the way you want it too..</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Friday we had weekly planning in the morning and then in the afternoon we went to Lambayeque because i had to do a baptismal interview for on the of the investigators who they are teaching! Thats was a pretty nerve-racking experience too! I was super scared to do it but i guess after all it went pretty well! So that took up almost all of Friday and we werent able to do much else on Friday.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: black;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><a href="x-apple-data-detectors://1" x-apple-data-detectors-result="1" x-apple-data-detectors-type="calendar-event" x-apple-data-detectors="true">Saturday morning</a> we went out and just did lots of contacts and nothing much came of the contacts that we did which was a bummer! In the afternoon we went out tried to visit some people and we were able to visit a couple which was pretty cool! After all it ended up being a good day!<br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Sunday was the best day of the week though!! In the morning we went to church and that went pretty well! My companion gave a talk because it was his last Sunday in the mission! Its always lridiculously hot in the Chapel house that we rent and its hard to concentrate sometime because youre just sweating the whole time and its kind of misrable but theyre trying to get some fans to make it better! Anyways in the afternoon we usually go out and we usually arent able to get much done because everybody is usually busy on Sunday, but it was different this time!! We had done some contacts on one street the day before and we set up three appointments with some people on the same street and we went and every single one of them let us in and we were able to share soemthing special with them! After dinner we went to a recent converts house and we were able to talk with her sister too for the first time and it was really cool and we think that she ould progress very well in the future! All in all Sunday ended up being a good day and at night i recieved the reports and passed them to the Zone Leaders and thats all for the week!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I know this church is true and one of my favorite things about it is one of the Article of Faith that we have, " We believe all that God has revealed, all that he does now reveal and we believe that he will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the kingdom of God! I love that we have continuous reveltaion and are guided by true prophets and apostles today!! Love you all!!<br /></span></div>

Week #78<br />
3/16/15<br />
Hey Everyone!!
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this week has been very crazy!?!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay so i don't have much time but ill try to get the big stuff in!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Monday of last week i didn't really get to say goodbye to all the people
that i wanted to and it was kind of sad!! I hope that at some point i will be
able to say bye to them!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tuesday we had the transfers meeting at like 11ish in the morning! It was a
fun time working with Elder Mecham and i feel like we had a lot of good times
and passed some cool experiences and we were both able to help each other learn
and grow!! I will miss being his companion! SO anyways at the transfers meeting i
got called to be in the area: Mórrope in the zone: Lambayeque as the new District
Leader!? I also am in a trio! So yeah Mórrope is a little tiny city almost out
in the middle of nowhere and its got a small branch with like 35ish members
that normally attend church! The city basically is surrounded by sand dunes and
it looks and feels like a desert! Its not dry but pretty humid and its hot and so you're basically always sweating!? </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah this week was kind of strange being in a trio because in teaching
situations you don't have to talk very much because there's one more of us!! I don't really know the area very much yet but my companions, Elder Smith from
Utah, and Elder Segura from Ecuador are helping me out! I don't really know that
many people yet but one cool thing that happened this week is that we, or better
said, they had a baptism! On Saturday a girl named Hellen got baptized and it
was a really cool experience and afterwards she gave a powerful testimony! I had
only visited her once so i didn't really help much in her conversion but it was
cool to see and feel the powerfulness of her testimony!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sunday we had church in the little chapel house which is only one floor
with a couple rooms! It was super hot in there and we were basically sweating
the whole time!! We really need to get some fans in there! Church went well and
it was interesting to see how small the branch was! Its going to be pretty tough
the missionary work here but it will be a good experience!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So Today we went to Lambayeque which is like 20ish minutes away in a
van(Combi) and went met up with the district to play soccer for a while!! It was
insanely hot outside though! While we were playing President Williams called the
zone leaders and said he wanted to talk to my companion Elder Smith. He said he
had been calling but we didn't answer because we were playing soccer.. So
President told Elder Smith that he was going to have an emergency change and
that we had to be in the office ASAP! So we went and ate then we came back and
took showers and got ready and Elder Smith packed up his stuff and we headed to
the office in Chiclayo to drop Elder Smith of with his new companion. So that
was really crazy news!? I was only companions with Elder Smith for like 6
days... My other companion Elder Segura is going home next week because hes
finishing his mission so basically we have no idea whats going to happen.. This
week will be the second week of the change so when Elder Segura goes home i will
either be left here in Mórrope with a mini missionary for the 3 and a half weeks
left in the change or i will also get an emergency change to some other place..
We really don't know whats going to happen.. All i know is that i have to get to
know the are really fast!! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So yeah this week has been a crazy week but interesting! I'm not sure whats
going to happen but im excited for this new opportunity i have to work in this
area for ho ever long it ends up being.. I know that this is the same church
that Jesus Christ himself established when he was here on the earth and im
grateful for the blessing it is in my life!! Love you all!</div>
<div>
Love,</div>
